ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Alhambra Planning Commissioner and Chair

I served on the Alhambra Planning Commission from August 2020 to August 2023. We worked through important policy documents including passing Inclusionary Housing Ordinance and rewriting our comprehensive zoning code during my time on the commission. These policies continue to serve the city and the community.

Committee Member on Safe Clean Water Program Watershed Steering Committee

I currently serve as a committee member to evaluate and fund stormwater infrastructure, along with greenspace initiatives and other community benefits, with a specific focus on addressing the needs of our disadvantaged communities in LA County to increase local water resiliency while promoting sustainability and equity across the county.

Executive Board Member for Asian American Architects and Engineers Association

I currently serve as the Board Secretary. We are committed to providing a platform for empowering professionals working in the built environment in personal and professional growth, business development and networking, and leadership in our community.

Alhambra Unified School District English Learner Advisory Committee

I served on the committee representing Monterey Highlands Elementary School. The committee comprises one representative from each school within the district to provide oversight on funding and programs supporting English Learners in the district. In my role, I acted as a bridge for the school and families whose primary language is not English, advocating for resources for the underserved populations.

Chair of Women in Structural Engineering

I led a platform dedicated to sharing resources, offering support, and elevating women in a predominantly male-dominated industry.

Mentor for Structural Engineering Association of Southern California

I served as a mentor to guide and coach younger engineers, fostering their career advancement and professional development.

Guest Lecturer

I guest lectured at California State University, Fullerton's Civil Engineering Department.

Public Service Award

I have received the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) public service award in recognition of my dedication to public service.

Certificate of Appreciation from the Chinese American Construction Professionals (CACP)

I received this for sharing my valuable knowledge as a speaker for CACA's Land Entitlement Workshop.

PTA Service Recognition from County Supervisor Solis, Assemblymember Mike Fong, and State Senate Susan Rubio

I received this service award for my work with the Monterey Highlands Elementary School PTA.

Service Recognition from the City of Alhambra

I received this in appreciation for three years of faithful and loyal service to the City of Alhambra on the Planning Commission, including as Chair.

I am licensed by the State of California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

Structural Engineer License

I am also licensed by the State of California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

Building Plans Examiner Certificate

I hold this certificate from the International Code Council.

Fellowship Recipient to Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley

I received this Fellowship, which allowed me to obtain my Masters degree from UC Berkeley.
